People have been singing "Why Is All The Rum Gone?" with me for several years now and I 'd like to thank everyone so much for joining in (and wearing the t shirt). I thought it was about time we all had another rum song to sing along to. This is an imaginary pirate voyage encountering many English pubs along the way. How many can you spot?
lyrics
We set sail at the rising sun Heave me hearties! Woah-oh Woah-oh!
A drink at each port, it was how it began Haul Away! Woah-oh-oh!
The ship she was built of fine royal oak Heave me hearties! Woah-oh Woah-oh!
With The Swan at her prow; such a splendid boat Haul Away! Woah-oh-oh!
We sail away with the wind at our backs
It's one for all and all for one
Full steam ahead, there's no turning back
There's a long way to go, so let's have another rum!
Yeah, 3 2 1 let's have another rum Arr!
The old man's beard's a red lion's mane Heave me hearties! Woah-oh Woah-oh!
With a cold white heart, so cruel and insane Haul Away! Woah-oh-oh!
The new mate, George, bore the old King's Arms Heave me hearties! Woah-oh Woah-oh!
But now answers to the bell of our corsair firm Haul Away! Woah-oh-oh!
We're sailing on with the wind at our backs
And it's one for all and all for one
Haul together, take in the slack
It's all to play for, let's have another rum! 3 2 1 let's have another rum Arr!
Down in one let's have another rum. Yeah, bottoms up! Let's have another...
And it's Kraken for the old man, Mount Gay for the Mate
Captain Morgans for the powder monkey
The Lambs Navy we pillaged the quartermaster hid
So it's Red Leg for the Boatswain and me
Through the white horses we ploughed gamely on Heave me hearties! Woah-oh Woah-oh!
With our angel to guide us. Any port in a storm! Haul Away! Woah-oh-oh!
The skies cleared, the storm passed, we followed the stars Heave me hearties! Woah-oh Woah-oh!
To anchor, safe harbour where we hit the bars! Drink up me hearties! Woah-oh-oh!
We've sailed on home with the wind at our backs
And it's one for all and all for one
Drinking together, the tars and the jacks
They've called last orders, let's have another rum!
Yes we've sailed on home with the wind at our backs
And it's one for all and all for one
Drinking together, the tars and the jacks
They've called last orders, let's have another rum!
Yes that's last orders, let's have another rum!
The voyage is done. It's time for one last rum
Arr!!

It is a memory of seeing the 3 daft monkeys live at the Driftwood Spars on 27/05/21 when Mum ‘Joanie’ first moved to Cornwall. Coming off Lithium and listening to my inner voice. eloiseclark

Great album. Almost a blend of Old Style and New Style Gaz. Delighted to have seen him perform two of the tracks live at Glastonbury. His performance was better than ever, and the songs are right up there with his best. matsan66
